Digital Loyalty Card for car washes

A digital loyalty card for car washes replaces the paper punch card with a pass in Apple or Google Wallet. Customers collect a stamp on every visit and redeem their reward after 8 stamps — no app download and no sign-up.

How does a digital loyalty card for car washes work?

Few industries live off repeat visits as directly as the car wash: a car does not get clean once, it gets clean again and again. That is exactly why gloveboxes and center consoles everywhere are full of paper bonus cards from car washes — faded, creased, or nowhere to be found at the decisive moment. This is how a car wash could replace them — with a “Wash pass”: a digital punch card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Collect eight washes, the next one is on the house.

Onboarding happens right at the wash: a QR code hangs at the register or the entry terminal, the customer scans it with the phone camera, taps “Add to Wallet” — done. No app, no account, no form. At every wash the customer shows the card from the lock screen, the staff scans it, and the stamp appears on the card within seconds. At the eighth stamp the card speaks up on its own: a push notification — the free wash is unlocked.

The branding stays entirely with the car wash: in this example it is a deep navy with a bold yellow accent — the card in the wallet looks like the signage at the entrance. On top come the wallet mechanics paper never managed: when the customer walks (or parks) near the wash, iOS can actively surface the card on the lock screen. And after a week of rain, a one-off push can go out to every active card: “Sun from tomorrow — your car has earned a wash.”

For the team at the wash almost nothing changes — except that it gets easier. Instead of punching paper cards or signing off receipts, the register scans the customer’s wallet QR code. That works even at peak time on a Saturday morning when the queue reaches the street: one scan per car, no searching, no arguing about lost cards.

The car wash on this page is made up — the preview above is not: it comes from the same renderer as every pass we ship, exactly the pixels that land in your customers’ wallets. Drag the slider and watch the wash pass fill up from the first to the eighth wash.

Why exactly this configuration?

QR code at register and entry

The way onto the card is a single scan. A sticker on the terminal, a sign at the register, or a poster at the entry — the same QR code everywhere, the same 10-second onboarding everywhere.

Push after the 8th wash

As soon as the last stamp is set, the customer automatically gets a native notification: the free wash is ready. No newsletter, no SMS gateway needed.

Weather campaigns via broadcast

After rain, pollen season, or road-salt weeks, wash demand is predictable. A broadcast push to all active cards brings cars onto the lot exactly when the wash has capacity.

Navy & yellow — branding like on site

Logo, brand colors, and program name appear 1:1 in the wallet. The card feels like part of the wash, not like a generic bonus program.

In everyday use

What does this look like day to day?

Where the wallet card makes the difference — not theory, but real-world situations.
  1. Saturday morning, full lane

The regular shows the card on the lock screen, the register scans it, stamp set — the queue keeps rolling. No digging for the paper card in the glovebox.

  2. Card full after the 8th wash

The customer automatically gets the push “Your reward is waiting — free wash”. On the next visit the reward is redeemed and the card starts over at 0/8.

  3. First sunny week after winter

The car wash sends a broadcast to all active cards: “Road salt off — book your spring wash now.” The campaign reaches exactly the customers already collecting stamps.

FAQ

What businesses ask most often.

Do my customers need an app?

No. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet are preinstalled on every iPhone and Android device. One QR scan at the register is enough to add the wash pass.

Does this also work at self-service wash boxes without staff?

Yes. The stamping QR code can hang at the box or the payment terminal; alternatively staff stamps at the register. How strictly stamping is secured is up to you per location.

How it works

In three steps to the first stamp.

From the first scan to the redeemed stamp — the whole flow takes just a few seconds.

Step 1

Guest scans the QR code

At the counter, on the receipt or on a table tent: one scan and the stamp card lands right in their wallet. No app. No typing. No hassle.

Step 2

Card stays in the wallet

The card appears right in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet — with logo, stamp count and QR code. It updates automatically after every visit.

Step 3

Staff stamps digitally

Staff scan the QR code in the guest's wallet. The stamp is added automatically and the transaction is saved.
